Bangor Symphony Orchestra Announces Special Ticket Offer*

The Bangor Symphony Orchestra continues its 2008-2009 Big Orchestra Series with Beethoven’s Emperor on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at 3:00pm at the Maine Center for the Arts (MCA) in Orono. To celebrate its return to the MCA, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra is offering a “Buy One Get One” deal on tickets purchased for the February 1 concert. Buy tickets Thursday, January 15 or Friday, January 16, to take advantage of the special offer – buy one ticket at regular price and get a second ticket free!* Tickets start at just 16 dollars for adults and 10 dollars for students.
Beethoven’s Emperor will feature guest conductor Lucas Richman leading the Symphony in the music of Beethoven and Brahms. Now in his sixth season as Music Director of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Richman is best known for his command of core repertoire, coupled with his finesse in presenting new and contemporary works. His extensive work with the KSO, and expanding reach into other American orchestras continue to illustrate Mr. Richman as a source of musical expertise and artistic excellence.
Also performing is guest artist Joel Fan on piano. Fan began his performing career with the New York Philharmonic at age 11, as a winner of the Philharmonic’s Young People’s Concert Auditions, and has since appeared in recital and with orchestras throughout the world. Fan’s eclectic repertoire spans traditional piano classics and concertos, his own piano transcriptions and cadenzas, and newly commissioned works.
