York, ME, While the Nation is on pins and needles with state of the Economy, Maine’s Tourism Industry is bracing itself for the upcoming summer season. Increases in Operating Costs are forcing companies to cut jobs and budgets across the country—and Maine’s Tourism Industry is no exception.
When completing market research for The Vacationland Concierge, President Heather Caldwell states that one of the major challenges tourism companies have expressed has been how to meet customer needs with reduced staff and resources. “Companies of all sizes have been overwhelmed with the state of the economy.” Caldwell continues, “When we talk about providing free resources to companies, resources that will enable them to increase client services without adding staff or tapping strapped financial resources, they’re relieved.”
Caldwell, who came up with the idea for The Vacationland Concierge, is gearing up for a strong first season. “We’re rolling out with a multi-faceted assortment of services. Whether tourists need pre-stocked refrigerators, delivered amusement and theatre tickets or specialty equipment like laptops, medcal equipment and Wii’s, we’re just a phone call and a few minutes away.”
Caldwell says that The Vacationland Concierge will be providing Specialized Concierge Services this spring/summer to the entire Southern Maine area south of Freeport via 2 branch offices and multiple Concierge Specialists working in their home towns. This winter The Vacationland Concierge will expand into the Maine Ski Regions followed by the entire northern Maine coastline next summer. Caldwell states that franchise opportunities will be made available throughout the country in the Fall of 2010.
