Nashua, NH — Carol Willoughby, an attorney at Bernstein Shur law firm in Manchester, NH, has been appointed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Leadership Council.  She is one of 40 individuals selected nationwide to serve on the council, which is a volunteer board aimed at engaging volunteer leaders and supporters while increasing fundraising results.

Willoughby, who has volunteered for the CF Foundation’s Northern New England Chapter for several years, was chosen for her extraordinary commitment to the foundation and her demonstrated ability to strengthen fundraising support. She also serves as Corporate Chairperson for the Manchester GREAT STRIDES walk and is a member of the committee for Seacoast Safari, a local CF Foundation cycling event.

“We can’t continue to grow and increase our fundraising potential without people like Carol, who help to bring our mission to the larger business community,” says Lisa Babaian, Executive Director of the Northern New England Chapter.

“The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has touched my family’s life personally and I am honored to give back in some small way,” states Willoughby.  “It is an inspiring organization to support – its staff is truly dedicated to serving the needs of patients and families and finding a cure for this devastating disease.  Progress in the Foundation’s life-saving mission is greatly impacted by the support of our local businesses, and I am proud to encourage their support.”

Willoughby, along with the other members of the CF Foundation Leadership Council, will be nationally recognized for her service in the spring of 2010.
