Live & Silent Auction Music Event

For Immediate Release

Musician to Hold Charity Auction

Portland, Maine – August 18th, 2010

With a charm and sense of humor often missing in indie music, Will Gattis, Maine’s Best Songwriter 2007, plans to engage bidders at an auction and wine tasting to support his upcoming music video as well as a local charity. The event, to be held at the Pinecrest Inn and Wine Bar in Gorham, will feature a sampling of music from Will’s new CD as well as tunes from his award winning career. Both live and silent auctions will be held to benefit the Preble Street Resource Center and fund Will’s first music video “You and Me” as well.

Will is an experienced musician who’s first studio release “Dullard” was compared to the humor of indie pop icons They Might be Giants and his song Metropolis, that chronicles the life of Superman has been heralded as a brilliant synthesis of a pop culture and philosophy. When asked to describe his music Will says, “It’s what might happen if Ben Folds was sitting next to Freddie Mercury in a philosophy class being taught by Paul McCartney.”

His unique style and charming humor coupled with the opportunity to support a Portland humanitarian cause like The Preble Street Resource Center makes this event one not to be missed. The auction and musical event will be held on August 29th from 2PM- 6PM and is open to all ages with a cover of $5.00. For more information or to donate items for the auction please contact Krystal Kenville at kkenville@hotmail.com.
