The Mane Attraction has been a staple of Portland salons since 1979. Now in a new space, owner Linda Angelone, for whom cutting hair is an art, is celebrating the opening of her new salon and art gallery that will feature the work of talented local artists. Her new space at 142 High Street, Suite 224, is in the State Theater Building, home to many artist studios, in the heart of the Arts District.
The celebration and art show will be part of Portland’s First Friday Art Walk on October 1, 2010 at The Mane Attraction’s new location from 5-8pm.
The show will feature work by Portland artist Lizz Sinclair. A graduate of the Maine College of Art and a long time teacher and artist for the community arts organization SPIRAL Arts, her work delights in the intersection of the spiritual and sensual worlds through color, line, and a variety of subject matter.
