GORHAM, MAINE – The Gorham Business Exchange welcomes four new members to the organization’s Board of Directors – Jeff Pike, Business Writing Services; Dylan Knight, Knight Property Services; Shirley Douglas, Douglas Design, and Kelly Flagg, Flaggship Landscaping. Each will serve a three-year renewable term.
Jeff Pike has been a freelance marketing writer and public relations specialist since 1999. During his freelance career, Pike has helped approximately 150 companies convey corporate messaging and product-value statements through written material such as case studies, press releases, newsletter articles and web text as well as public relations campaigns. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1986 with a B.S. in Journalism.
Dylan Knight is owner of Knight Property Services. Knight grew up at Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook, Maine and has been mowing lawns there since age 11. He bought his first mower in April 2006 and founded KPS. Since then, Knight Property Services has grown into a full service landscaping and snow plowing company. In partnership with his staff, Dylan carefully overseas all jobs from start to finish to assure every customer’s highest satisfaction.
Shirley Douglas is owner and creative director at Douglas Design, an outsourced graphic design firm in Gorham. Douglas’s career began in 2000 as an in-house designer. From there, she worked in the prepress department and learned all facets of design and printing industry. In 2008, she started Douglas Designs to provide creative graphic and printing solutions to all of her clients. Douglas is a member of the Gorham Business Exchange, Midcoast Business Exchange and Association for Consulting Expertise (ACE). She resides in Gorham with her wonderful husband, daughter and Golden Doodle.
Kelly Flagg is owner and VP of Sales for Flaggship Landscaping, Inc. Besides being a member of the Gorham Business Exchange, Flagg participates in Echelon Circles, Business Networking International and Junior League of Portland. She is currently working with the Gorham Recreation Department to establish a new arboretum at Robie Park. When not working, she enjoys hiking, running and spending time with her husband and 1-year-old son.
The Gorham Business Exchange is a group of 175 business people who live or work in Gorham. GBE was formed to promote and maintain a positive business climate in and about the town. The group meets monthly from September through June. GBE also publishes an annual business directory of its members, recognizes an annual Business Person of the Year, supports local civic organizations and events, and organizes Gorham Marketplace each March and the Fore-a-Scholarship Golf Tournament each June.
