Sea Bags Crafted Flag Flies to Welcome Home the Hannah Boden and Crew

Portland, MAINE (November 4, 2010)- Back in the day, it was tradition to fly a flag when a boat was coming into Portland Harbor. It would signal to the city what type of boat and generally the name of the vessel that was landing.

In honor of this Maine tradition, The Hannah Boden flag, made by Sea Bags out of recycled sails, flies proud atop Portland’s observatory yesterday as it welcomed the boat back in from its time out on the Grand Banks fishing and filming of Discovery Channel’s Swords! Life on the Line.

Also to welcome back the ship and crew, there is a Welcome Home Party scheduled for this Saturday on Custom House Wharf from noon to 3pm. Come meet the crew, captained by Linda Greenlaw, sample swordfish and get a glimpse of the boat that has returned to sword fishing: The Hannah Boden.
