Portland, Maine – December 2nd, 2010
The short slasher film, She Feast, produced in Portland, received top honors at The Killer Film Challenge and Best Production honors in the 5th Annual Portland Phoenix Short Film Festival both in the same month. “We’re on a roll,” said the films executive producer, John E. Seymore of The Maine Studios. “We also had a great screening at Geno’s where we were paired with Shawn French’s horror feature The Wrong House just last week.” The short, originally conceived as an entry for The Killer Film Challenge, was produced in only 72 hours and tells the story of a cult of man eating women and their run-in with the law.
Plans are underway to expand the She Feast concept into a feature that will tentatively go before the cameras this spring. “We’re making great headway on the script and fund-raising is underway,” said Seymore who will be sharing writing duties with Alex Merrill. “We’re thinking bigger about this film.” Said Seymore who would not disclose specifics on casting however he did reveal other details, “I am excited to announce that we have already landed well known horror filmmaker Kendal Sinn to direct. By partnering with Kendal and Gunn Park Entertainment, we increase our chance of success.”
