Visiting Nurse Association Hires Catherine Studley as Lead for New LifeStages Service

PORTLAND, Maine (February 07, 2010) — VNA Home Health & Hospice , a non-profit affiliate of Mercy Health System of Maine, has hired Catherine Studley as program manager for its new LifeStages service.

LifeStages, a private-pay division for VNA Home Health & Hospice, launched Jan. 1, 2011, and provides companionship and non-medical services to support clients who desire in-home care to maintain their independence. These services include errands, meal preparation, housekeeping, light housework, and personal care. LifeStages also offers geriatric care management and elder mediation to support families with aging loved ones.

As leader of the LifeStages program, Studley will ensure that all clients develop a rewarding relationship with their caregivers and that their needs are met with dignity and compassion. She also will be screening and hiring all caregivers, overseeing their training and selecting the best caregiver to meet an individual client’s needs, along with growing the division as a whole.

“Catherine’s years of experience working with Hospice organizations make her a wonderful fit for our new LifeStages program,” says Lisa Fuller, Director of Business Development. “Her expertise in marketing, communications and management will be valuable in making the program successful in continuing to provide compassionate care to those in need.

Formerly the Executive Director for Hospice of Maine hospice organizations across northern New England, Studley holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Central Connecticut State University, Magna Cum Laude. She resides in Scarborough.
