Celebrities and Pros Get Ready to Tee Up for the Annual George H.W. Bush Celebrity Golf Tournament

Players from around the nation come together at Cape Arundel Golf Club to support Gary’s House

Maine (March 28, 2011) — As the premiere golf event in Maine, the 9th Annual George H.W. Bush Celebrity Golf Tournament will take place June 14, 2011 at Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport with Former Patriots and Red Sox players in attendance.

The tournament is a best-ball scramble with a maximum of 27 teams, each with one Maine golf professional. Registration is now open for the tournament, with May 20, 2011 as a deadline to enter. Teams may purchase a spot in the tournament online at http://www.mercyhospital.org/content/ghgolfinfob.htm.

This event will also feature the Point of Light Award, given to an individual or group that has made a significant contribution to the growth of Gary’s House. Previous winners include President George H.W. Bush, American Airlines, and the Maine PGA Professionals. This year’s award will be presented by Eileen Skinner, President and CEO of Mercy Hospital

  • The Point of Light Award will be presented at the Golf Classic Dinner and Auction, taking place after the tournament at the Colony Hotel.
  • Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Gary’s House.
