Screenwriting Competition Gains Sponsor

Portland, Maine – March 23rd, 2011

The Maine Studios announced today on the contest website www.scriptsation.com that winners in the 2011 contest will also receive a one year membership to the Script Pipeline Database. “We’re thrilled to partner with Script Pipeline for this contest.” States contest creator and The Maine Studios Public Relations Director, Gary Hauger. “They offer a fantastic service to help screenwriters get their work produced.” As a screenwriter himself, Hauger is familiar with some of the frustration that writer’s feel. “Writing the script is only half the process, getting the finished product into the hands of people that make a film out of it is the other half. Honestly, that is the harder part.”

The database service provided by Script Pipeline through website www.scriptpipeline.com allows the screenwriter to search over 1300 listings of production companies that are actively looking for material to produce. “It is a way for writers to target their script to the most receptive companies and increases their chances of getting that often elusive sale,” commented Script Pipeline Development Director Matt Misetich. Script Pipeline has served as a meeting point for writers, producers and development executives for over ten years. Recently, the company has premiered its own first feature The Living Wake starring Oscar-Nominee Jesse Eisenberg in 2010. The estimated value of this additional prize is $99.95 for each one year membership.
