Guided day trips from Portland to Boston, via the Amtrak Downeaster, are now available from Maine Day Trip. Tour guide, Kathleen White, born in the Boston area, was educated, lived and worked in Boston, provides round-trip guidance for private groups of six to eight. Personalized itineraries are built around three themes: The Freedom Trail, the North End and children’s destinations.
Leaving Portland on Amtrak at 8:00 a.m. and returning on the 5:00 p.m. train allows five hours of unique opportunities to experience Boston, walking from North Station. The private walking tours include different options such as historic sites, The New England Aquarium, riding Swan Boats in Boston Gardens, and experiencing “Little Italy” all within a two mile radius.
“Kathleen, now a summer resident in Maine, has always maintained a close relationship with Boston and it’s people, even as she lived in Europe and other states during her career. Her warm personality and friendships are shared with everyone along the streets of Boston.” explains Maine Day Trip owner, Norm Forgey.
Tours available now through Columbus Day weekend. Advance reservations required.
