The Story of McAuley Residence is a Story of Hope
Since it was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1988, McAuley Residence has helped more than two hundred women—many with children who are able to live there with them—recover from addiction, domestic violence, homelessness and other trauma. The women who enter this long term life skills program are given the help they need to heal and to thrive.
“The women and children of McAuley have endured significant trauma and many challenges in their journey to McAuley,” says Melissa Skahan, Program Manager. “We offer them an opportunity to heal, an opportunity to regain their strength and to learn the life skills they’ll need to lead full, productive and healthy lives.”
“McAuley has been a sanctuary for me. The warmth, the compassion…now I feel ready to take on the world again,” says Linda, a graduate of the program.
Come celebrate this life changing organization – and help raise much needed funds to support its work today and into the future.
Sponsors of the event include Key Bank and Key4Women—which provides financial literary support for the women at McAuley Residence. For more information on McAuley Residence or to RSVP or purchase tickets for the upcoming auction, go to mcauleyresidence.org or call 207-879-3486.
