Portland, Maine (October 21, 2011) – Mercy Health System of Maine recently hired Bianca Monteiro, M.D. as a new physician for its pulmonary practice, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases.
Located on the third floor of Mercy Hospital on State Street in downtown Portland, Mercy’s Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine Department offers exceptional strength in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary lung disease and sleep disorders. The practice offers a vast array of diagnostic testing abilities and specialists that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help care for critically ill patients.
Dr. Monteiro received her Medical Doctorate from the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil and is a board certified physician in pulmonary care. A multilingual provider who is fluent in Portuguese, French, Spanish, and English; Dr. Monteiro completed her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Yale University. She also received a Special Honor Award for Distinct Work during Hurricane Katrina.
