More Talent Joins Spirit Island.
November 9th, 2011 (Lisbon Falls, Maine) – According to an announcement on the company’s website (www.clockworkpirates.com), another pair of actors have joined the cast of Spirit Island. Julia Benson and husband Peter have officially indicated their interest in performing roles in the horror film written by Maine authors.
Both Julia and Peter have numerous credits in genre television including Smallville, Supernatural and Stargate. Ms. Benson most recently starred in the SyFy channel series Stargate:SGU and Mr. Benson is also a well known motion capture artist whose work appears in the alien invasion film District 9. “We’re thrilled to have the Bensons onboard for Spirit Island,” commented Clockwork Pirate productions co-founder Gary Hauger. “They will be portraying a pair of college professors that are quite in love. Having these roles portrayed by a real life couple we hope will add to the realism of the relationship on film.”
The Bensons join horror and sci-fi veteran Patricia Tallman, who joined the cast last month. “We are getting some really great talent to work with us on this project,” said Dana Sonnie. “Julia is not only beautiful, but she has great dramatic range. The script has a lot of emotion. She’ll be great.” Sonnie is also a founding partner of the Clockwork Pirate Productions team.
Screenplay co-author Andrew Hercock commented, “This makes three of the six major roles in the film that have been filled at this point. We’re hoping to have the others lined up in the next few weeks.” Hercock continued, “It’s exciting to see this coming together, but we still have a long way to go before we have a finished film.” All three Clockwork Pirate partners referenced their ongoing fundraiser on www.indiegogo.com. “We’re still raising startup money and funds to hire an executive producer,” said Hauger. “People can follow a link on our website if they want to be a part our success story and make a contribution. Every bit helps.”
