Manchester, NH and Portland, ME (May 11, 2012) — Michael A. Fagone, shareholder and co-chair of Bernstein Shur’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group, was recently appointed to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s board of directors.
The American Bankruptcy Institute is the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues. The ABI provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information for more than 13,000 attorneys, auctioneers, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and other bankruptcy professionals.
Fagone has been a member of ABI since 1998 and is a frequent lecturer at ABI events, an author in ABI publications, and former co-chair of ABI’s Northeast Regional Conference. He is also one of a handful of lawyers in northern New England certified in business bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification.
Fagone is recognized by Best Lawyers in America and by Chambers USA for his bankruptcy work, with Chambers ranking Mike as one of the top bankruptcy lawyers in Maine. He received his JD summa cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law.
