Promotions Announced at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution

Saco, MAINE (July 26, 2012) – Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution (SBSI), Maine’s oldest bank, recently promoted three of its loan department employees, Wanda Chelate, Kendra Bouffard, and Sandy Legendre. Additionally, Gerri Richards has been promoted to lead teller at SBSI’s Westbrook location and Michele Tanguay has been promoted to business portfolio assistant in the bank’s business services department.

Wanda Chelate, of Saco, has been promoted to Loan Closing Supervisor. Chelate first joined SBSI in December 2000 as a Loan Processor in the residential loan department. She is currently a volunteer for the Saco Community Meals Program and the Ronald McDonald House in Portland. She graduated from Thornton Academy and studied at Casco Bay College. She resides in Saco with her husband Adam and their daughter Abby.

Kenda Bouffard, of Biddeford, has been promoted to Senior Loan Processor. Bouffard joined SBSI in August 2005 as a fulltime teller at the Old Orchard Beach branch. She graduated from Warren Central High School, earned an associate degree from ITT Technical Institute, and has taken courses with the Center for Financial Training. She resides in Biddeford with her husband Brian and their son.

Sandy Legendre, of Saco, has been promoted to Senior Loan Closer. Legendre joined SBSI in June 1997 and has been with the loan department since 1998. She is currently a volunteer for the Saco Community Meals Program and the Ronald McDonald House in Portland. Legendre graduated from Thornton Academy and has completed coursework with the American Institute of Banking. She resides in Saco with her husband Ray and their son.

Gerri Richards, of Westbrook, has been promoted to head teller at SBSI’s Westbrook branch. Richards graduated from Deering High School and worked in the healthcare field before joining SBSI in 2010 as a fulltime teller. Richards, her husband Jim, and their three children reside in Westbrook, where Richards is a very active volunteer for area athletic programs.

Michele Tanguay, of Saco, has been promoted to Business Portfolio Assistant for SBSI’s business services department. Tanguay joined SBSI in December of 2010 as a customer service representative. In that time, she has served as a board member of the Heart of Biddeford, as well as committee chairperson for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of York County. A graduate of Lisbon High School, Tanguay resides in Saco with her husband Robert and daughter Ashly
