If you have been swept up in the energy of the Tri for the Cure or Beach to Beacon Road Race, it should not be overlooked that these are significant (and very successful!) fundraising events for their respective causes. Sandsations: Community Sandsculpting Contest functions in much the same way, as an important fundraiser for Birth Roots Perinatal Resource Center.
Each Sandsations Team will need someone with an artistic vision, someone who is good at asking for online pledges, a couple people with the muscles to move sand, and a cheerleader or two never hurts. Additionally, the children from each team will be invited to participate in the “Mermaid Brigade” – a line up of merchildren with tails made out of sand – to happen while the judges are viewing the teams’ sculptures! An amazing photo opportunity!
Not only is the 4th Annual Sandsations 2012 a family-friendly fundraiser, it is a team-building, a community-fostering, environmentally-conscious event that raises awareness about the mission of Birth Roots as a nonprofit organization.
