Santa Paws is Coming to Town: Pet Photos with Santa
Join professional photographer Ronn Orenstein and Santa Paws again this year at The Animal House for pet photos with Santa.  The renowned area photographer will be at The Animal House on Sat., December 6th from 12pm-4pm.
Ronn will be waiving his sitting fee, so that families will only be paying for the photo packages they choose.  Well-behaved pets on leash or in carriers are welcome.  Refreshments for people and pets will be available.  No appointment is necessary.  For more information on Ronn Orenstein, please visit his website: www.ronnorenstein.com.

Sat., October 25th, 11am-2pm: Adoption Clinic: Maine Greyhound Rescue Placement.

Sun., October 26th, 10am-2pm: Rabies Clinic, Dr. Abby Strobbe, $10

Mon., October 27th, 9;30am-4:30pm: 50% off all self-service washes at SUDS! Grooming with any shelter donation (may be used or new item, or monetary). Proceeds to be donated to Humane Society of Knox County.

Tues., October 28th. 1pm-5pm: In-store Demo: Blue Buffalo (www.bluebuff.com). Free samples.

Wed., October 29th, 2pm-7pm: Visit us at our booth at the 2008 Business Feast at the Darrows Barn at Round Top Farm. Free samples!

Thurs., October 30th, 5:30-7pm: Pet Costume Party and Contest: Free treats and prizes for best costumes!

Fri., October 31st: Trick and Treat. Have your dog do a trick and get a free treat!

Sat., Nov. 1st, 6am-9am: Early Bird! 30% off the first hour, 20% off the second hour, and 10% off the rest of the day. Excludes dog and cat food. 50% off select merchandise all day.

Sun., Nov. 2nd, 3pm-6pm: Pet First Aid & CPR class. Class fee is $40 and includes all books, dvds and materials. Class limited to 12. Taught by licensed Pet First Aid instructor Gail Conley-Regan. Sign-up in advance is required.

ADOPT ME! KITTENS AVAILABLE AT THE ANIMAL HOUSE ADOPTION CENTER

The Adoption Center at The Animal House currently has nine kittens, aged 8 to 16 weeks, available for adoption.    The Animal House was chosen as a satellite location for the Humane Society of Knox County (HSKC) in February, and have adopted out twenty cat and kittens on their behalf since then.  All cats adopted through The Animal House are subject to the same application process as one would go through at the Knox shelter, and all fees adoption fees go directly to HSKC.  
The Animal House cares for, cleans and feeds all cats and kittens in their care while at The Adoption Center, at no cost to HSKC. The Animal House also offers 10% off an adopters purchases made at the time of adoption.
HSKC currently has over 100 cats at their Thomaston location, and to help with the overpopulation, The Animal House agreed to house more cats than usual.  The HSKC adoption fee includes vaccinations, deworming and spay/neuter.  The adoption fee for kittens under 6 months of age is $45 for a limited time.

PAWS FOR A CAUSE: WOOFSTOCK 2008

The Lincoln Home will once again be the idyllic setting for WOOFSTOCK 2008, on Saturday, August 9th from 9:30am-3pm. WOOFSTOCK, a joint venture between The Animal House and the Damariscotta-Newcastle Rotary Club, will feature pet-related seminars and demonstrations, a Family Fun Dog Show, Parade of Breeds, pet-related vendors, activities, services and games, free samples, food, and raffles throughout the day.

Some of the activities and services planned include Canine Good Citizen Testing (sign-up in advance is required), Pet Photography with Ronn Orenstein, Tarot Card and Paw Readings, Face Painting, Nail Clipping, Microchipping and Toothbrushing, Games for People and Pets and “How to Make the Perfect Dog Cookie!”. Plus, the “Taste Test” booth will be back again by popular demand!

The following shelters and rescues will be participating at WOOFSTOCK 2008: Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Humane Society of Knox County, Boxers in Need, Life’s Little Paws Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Australian Shepherd Rescue and Placement Helpline, Maine Greyhound Placement Service, Safe Harbor Chesapeake Bay Retriever Rescue, North East Rottweiler Rescue & Referral, Coastal Great Dane Rescue, catwalk.dogpath, inc., Kennebec Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club & Rescue and New England Brittany Spaniel Rescue.

Over 30 pet-related vendors will be joining WOOFSTOCK this year from throughout New England including: Dogswell, Merrick, Blue Buffalo, Maine Friends of Animals, ZiwiPeak, Zuke’s, Planet Dog, Serendipity House/Douglas Paquette, Meadowbrook Kennel & Spa, Northern Tracks, Weruva, Canine Snack Shack, Honest Kitchen and many more.

All proceeds from WOOFSTOCK 2008 will be donated to the participating shelters and rescues and to Rotary charities. Well-behaved, leashed pets welcome. Rain or shine.

NEW GROOMING STUDIO TO OPEN IN DAMARISCOTTA
Got a dirty dog?  Make an appointment with SUDS!, the new grooming studio at The Animal House in Damariscotta. SUDS! specializes in medium and large breed dogs, and offers baths, nail clipping, cuts and specialty clips.  The Animal House has expanded their store to add SUDS! by renting another space in their current location at 372 Main Street.   The popular Self-Service Dog Wash is still be available, and will be moved into the SUDS! Grooming Studio area.
Baths and nail clipping are available Monday through Saturday and will be provided by current Animal House staffer Teresa Byers or groomer/pet stylist Mary Linda Rapelye.    Cuts and clips will be only be available on Fridays and Saturdays with Mary Linda, beginning June 13th.   Specialty services will also include a Furminator De-shedding package, anti-flea/tick package and doggy facials.  All products used in SUDS! are 100% natural.  
The Animal House & SUDS! Grooming Studio is located at 372 Main Street in Damariscotta.  The Animal House is open 7 days a week and features natural food and supplies for dogs and cats. An open house for SUDS! is planned for Sat., June 28th.  For more information, please call 563.5595.
