Laguna Beach Wedding Experience: 7 Frequently Asked Questions

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

4292_L_banner_315x3851.    Why should we choose Laguna Beach for our wedding location? When deciding where to hold their wedding ceremonies couples are faced with an endless number of choices.  If you are already considering a Southern California wedding, Orange County makes an excellent selection.  Situated just fifty miles south of Los Angeles and ninety miles north of San Diego, Orange County boasts 42-miles of pristine coastline.  Within Orange County, Laguna Beach stands out for its sandy coves and quaint-village feel.  The city of Laguna Beach is known not only for its beaches, but also for its connection to the arts.  The city annually hosts the renowned Pageant of the Masters, along with numerous other art festivals and events.  As a wedding location, Laguna Beach can offer couples a wide variety of options.  Traditional or contemporary, couples will be sure to find a venue that reflects their unique tastes.

2.    Is Laguna Beach suitable for large groups arriving from out of town?  Though the city of Laguna Beach retains a quaint atmosphere and beach town feel, it has all of the services and amenities of any major metropolis.  Serviced by John Wayne Airport (Airport Code: SNA), Laguna Beach has an array of hotel and dining options to accommodate even the largest groups in town for destination weddings.  During the summer months, free trolleys run through town, making the need for a rental car almost nonexistent.  Even during the winter, Laguna’s downtown area is easy to navigate on foot.

3.    How is art connected to weddings in Laguna Beach? With a specially zoned city arts district and live-work spaces for local artists, couples getting married in Laguna Beach have the chance to find innovative uses of art within the design and layout of their wedding ceremony and reception. The creative atmosphere has translated into weddings with a savvy sense of style and décor.  Spanning the range from sleek & stylish to classic & refined, weddings in Laguna Beach are widely enhanced by the vibrant, creative culture. The arts are genuinely valued in Laguna and the weddings held in the area reflect that emphasis put on good taste.

4.    Do I really need a Wedding Planner for my Laguna Beach wedding? This question is usually left up to the preference of each particular couple, though some venues necessitate a planner more than others.  Beach weddings take a certain amount of prior planning, as do ceremonies that aren’t held at the same location as the reception.  On the other hand, certain venues in Laguna Beach have teams on staff who understand the intricacies of planning a wedding, and work with couples throughout each stage of the process.  Similarly, weddings that feature outside vendors are more complex to orchestrate than weddings which provide services in-house.  The other advantage of these full service venues is that the design and feel of the event is often more consistent with the vision of the couple.

5.    What are the pros and cons of an outdoor wedding in Laguna Beach? The notion of an outdoor wedding is generally dictated by the tastes of the bride and groom and the season during which they are getting married.  While the beach is a consistently popular option, some couples prefer a more private setting.  The stunning Laguna canyons provide another beautiful backdrop for wedding ceremonies, while some venues offer outdoor options on site, creating a safety net in case the weather refuses to cooperate.

6.    What is the role of technology in the Laguna Beach wedding experience?  Due to the creative environment thriving in Laguna, wedding planners and venues in Laguna Beach are interested in the various applications of state of the art technology and media during wedding ceremonies and receptions.  Most of the local facilities are equipped with sound, video and lighting capability.  Some venues even offer digital projections and/or stylized lighting to develop a personalized and tasteful ambiance. The applications of various media, presentation technologies and lighting options within your ceremony are limited only by your imagination.

7.    Does Laguna Beach have wedding vendors, photographers, various venue options, reception locations and spots for rehearsal dinners? Yes.  Many weddings are held in Laguna Beach every year and all of the necessary services are readily available in wide variety.  Laguna also hosts full service venues that provide all of the necessary services without creating the need for an endless string of vendors or wedding planners.

Monday, September 14th, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The 2009 Lobsterman Triathlon and Aquabike will take place at Winslow Park in South Freeport, Maine on Saturday, September 19th.

PORTLAND, ME – September 14, 2009 – Tri-Maine’s Lobsterman Triathlon and Aquabike event will bring over 800 athletes to South Freeport on Saturday morning, September 19th. Acclaimed for having the “Best Scenery” of any triathlon in the country by Triathlete Magazine in 2008, the popular event sold out for 2009.

The race begins at 9:30 a.m. at Freeport’s ocean-side Winslow Park.
