Portland, Maine- November 27th, 2009

The Maine Studios, Maine’s largest film and media production facility announced today the addition of Gary Hauger as the studio’s Public Relations Director.

A graduate of Saint Joseph’s College in Standish Maine, Hauger holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and produced his first short film as a final project for the degree program.

Earlier this summer, Hauger joined the studio as a member of the Maine Film Collaborative representing his latest venture, Clockwork Pirate Productions. The company is a screenwriting think tank that was responsible for writing the recently produced Doritos commercial contest submission for the studio and has a television series and a technological thriller in the works.

Hauger has been involved with films since high school, working as a photo double on the Stephen King film Graveyard shift at the tender at of 17. Most recently, Hauger completed filmming as a featured player in the Freight Trains Films production Scooter McGruder that is due to be released next year.

His work in public relations and promotions extends back to his college years when Hauger served as the publisher for an internationally distributed comic book. “Getting the light to shift from Hollywood to The Maine Studios will be a challenge, but I’m up for it.” Hauger said. Currently, a number of productions shoot an abbreviated schedule on location and do their pre and post production in Hollywood but that could change “We have screenwriters, producers,make-up artists, music producers, editors, camera and lighting crew basically everyone and everything you need from start to finish for a film right here in Maine.” Says Hauger.

Studio Executive, John Seymore, “Gary is a great addition to the team. He’s fired up and ready to go.” Seymore also commented on future plans, “We have lots of events coming to the studio and we’ll be at all the regional film festivals in 2010. Gary will make sure everyone knows what is going on.”

Now a resident of Lisbon Falls, Hauger grew up in the Downeast town of Orland, Maine and is thrilled to be a part of bringing more filmmaking to this great state.
