About Bhagavan Das

Teacher, performer, counter-cultural icon, lover of God: Bhagavan Das is as rich and manifold as Existence itself.

Bhagavan Das is one of the last living cultural icon of the 60′s. As Ram Das’s mentor (author of Be Here Now) he ushered in the New Age Spiritual Movement being the first Kirtan Artist in America. His groundbreaking album “Ah” (1971) produced by Jimmi Hendrix’s manager Michael Jeffrey’s was the first World Music album from Electric Ladyland. Bhagavan Das has also toured with Allen Ginsberg, opened for the Grateful Dead and sang with Bob Dylan.

Living as a sadhu in India for six years Bhagavan Das studied the ancient science of Nada Yoga under the guidance and direction of his Guru Neem Karoli Baba. Nada Yoga is the path of devotion to the inner sound current as a means to God Realization. Alan Watt’s himself saying in a Rolling Stone review of the Album “Ah” that “Bhagavan Das is truly a Master of Nada Yoga”.

Bhagavan Das’s rare and sacred offering to this world is like a singing open heart heralding the Guru’s Grace through the vehicle of Sound.

York, Maine (December 2, 2010)— Design Lab 10, a graphic and web design company, has taken numerous steps to be environmentally responsible – a green company. Having created logos, websites and other design work for clients nationwide, they are hoping to help spread the “green” theme. ”All of the environmentally sound choices we have made are available to our clients as well. We prefer they join our cause, but we don’t require it,” says Dana Whitney, owner of Design Lab 10.

Portland – Maine Senior Guide, a free on-line resource for Maine seniors and their families, has launched its website at www.MaineSeniorGuide.com

The website is a searchable database of senior-focused products, services and resources from all over the state. Business, non-profit, agency and government information is included in the database, which has more than 7,000 listings and is growing daily. Designed as a resource for adult children as well as active and frail seniors, the site includes six categories and 40+ subcategories of resources ranging from independent living to senior real estate experts. At the same time, it serves as an additional forum for small business to connect with clients. With excellent data and lots of information, MSG will be a formidable resource for Maine’s seniors and their families, and a targeted marketing venue for Maine’s businesses.

Maine Senior Guide is free to viewers. Principals Lynn Peel and Deborah McLean founded the company to establish a collaborative resource that would include free listings as well as more detailed information about paying resources. “It’s a comprehensive site,” notes McLean, “but it’s not complete. We’re accepting listings from groups, non-profits, businesses and associations. Even if you don’t want an enhanced listing right now, we’d still like to include you in the database so that people know you exist.” Peel added, “We want such a complete database of senior products and services that if someone’s daughter lives in Massachusetts and wants to see what resources are available for her mom in Lincoln, all she has to do in put “Lincoln” into our search function and she’ll get everything from health care to volunteer opportunities.”

Maine Senior Guide offers a free calendar function, numerous articles in a searchable library, a weekly blog, and information posting called “Ask Lynn” plus a weekly column by an expert resource. The Maine Senior Guide Facebook and Twitter postings also feed to the site. Maine Senior Guide is at www.maineseniorguide.com

For more information, contact Deborah McLean (dmclean@MaineSeniorGuide.com) or Lynn Peel (lpeel@MaineSeniorGuide.com)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pulp+Wire Opens the Door for Aspiring Youth

(Portland, Maine) – Internationally recognized design firm, Pulp+Wire, is bolstering the creativity of local students seeking hands on experience<ins datetime="2010-07-28T11:15" cite="mailto:Michael%20Geneseo"> </ins>in the creative industry. Upon recently relocating from Westbrook to Portland, the firm has become a sensation in Portland’s Old Port district. However, in the midst of its success, Pulp+Wire has made a concerted effort to provide opportunity to three individuals seeking to establish and expand their breadth of real-world experience. Current summer interns, Sophia Lemire, Myles Wirth and Brian O’Leary have joined the work force with one of Portland’s leading design firms.

“I strive to create opportunity for interns because I appreciate those who gave me a chance when I was still figuring out which direction I wanted to go in” said Taja Dockendorf, founder of Pulp+Wire. The design firm has made it a point to expose the interns to areas of the field that meet and develop their specific skills. Thus far, the interns have been exposed to everything from graphic design to packaging, illustration to product development. Sophia, Myles and Brian are gaining work experience in a whirlwind of real-time deadlines and widely varying client needs, which makes it easy to exercise their personal talents in a multitude of projects.

Entering the firm with a strong desire to learn, each intern has found that such a unique experience has helped them to discover and pursue their inner passions. Brian O’ Leary, a recent graduate of Casco Bay High School, has been able to apply his artistic talents to the areas of graphic and web design. “I’ve always had a passion for art,” says Brian, “and at Pulp+Wire I have gained a valuable insight on how I can approach the world of creativity with a business perspective.” With plans to attend Massachusetts College of Art and Design in the fall, Brian is hoping to further develop his artistic knowledge and determine what specific area of study he will pursue in school.

Similarly, Myles Wirth is channeling his artistic passions into his work with illustrative design. At Pulp+Wire, he has been focusing on concept sketches and story boarding, both of which have exposed him to the many facets of graphic design. As a visual arts student at the University of British Columbia in Canada, Myles has used this internship as a means of unveiling his many artistic talents. He finds the experience very beneficial because it has shown him how “the digital arts are becoming more and more applicable in the business market.” Myles is currently in the process of designing an application for the iPhone and will continue honing his graphic design skills through the summer.

On the business side of things, Sophia Lemire sought out an internship that would expose her to the many facets of the advertising and marketing sector. “There’s only so much you can learn within a classroom; it’s how you apply your knowledge within society that will serve as the ultimate life lesson,” said Sophia, a sophomore attending the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire. Through this internship, she has taken on various projects in the areas of advertisement and marketing and hopes to also get a taste of the digital arts. Sophia has used this hands on experience to further determine which areas of business she will pursue as a career.

These young individuals have set out on very different journeys but have crossed paths due to their common interest in creative advertisement. It is because Pulp+Wire reaches out to Maine’s aspiring youth that Sophia, Brian and Myles have been able to develop their many skills and pursue their path of self-discovery.

For Immediate Release

Portland, Maine – A new Portland company, CouponEvolution.com, has taken the clipping out of coupons.

CouponEvolution.com launched on Thursday, July 8, allowing consumers to search deals in Maine and New Hampshire. Unlike many other coupon websites, CouponEvolution.com features coupons from locally owned and area businesses. The website can be accessed directly from a desktop computer or any internet-capable mobile device. Each interactive coupon features buttons that allow the consumer to print, email, text, or share on Twitter or Facebook. A Google Maps icon also links directly to each business location for easy access to directions.

The evolutionary feature of CouponEvolution.com is how they have changed the way that coupons are redeemed. Consumers simply send a deal they like from CouponEvolution.com via text message to themselves, or a friend, and present the coupon on their mobile device at the business to redeem the coupon.

For more information, please contact Jason Dye at jdye@couponevolution.com, or via phone 207-370-6013 ext. 501, or visit www.couponevolution.com.
